I like to buy my meat at Trader Joe's.
Wash meat really good. Put it on the skillet with water. Boil for 10 min. Peel skin of drumsticks. Add it to a boiling water. Add bay leaf, salt, vegeta. Boil for 40min to 1 hour.

Mix eggs with flour add dash of salt. Set aside.

Cut onion into small pieces. Put in the oiled skillet. Add shredded carrots. Fry on med until golden brown.

Like this.
Put  potatoes in the boiling water. Boil for 5 minutes. Add onion with carrots. With the spoon start adding dough. Keep mixing.
Boil for 5-7 min.
Add greens.
Now enjoy with some added mayo to your plate.

  2. I have a serious love for dumplings of all kinds...especially when they're in a soup. It's breakfast time for me but if I still want this now. Dumpling soup would be a good way to start the day!

    1. Same shapes are not possible. You can make em soft put less flour or hard about 2 cups flour. To make smaller pieces put like 1/4 of a teaspoon of batter. I hope this helped:)

  9. Thank you so much for this recipe, Lea! This is the best recipe for Galushki soup that I've tasted in years. Over the years I've tried making this soup with different recipes (given to me by others who claimed their version was the best), but none of them tasted as delicious as your recipe. I am so happy I found your blog. I made it last night and it tasted just like the soup from my childhood. My husband, son and I love it! Thank you for your recipe and also, I love your entire blog!

  10. Hello, in the first step "Wash meat really good. Put it on the skillet with water. Boil for 10 min. Peel skin of drumsticks. Add it to a boiling water. Add bay leaf, salt, vegeta. Boil for 40min to 1 hour". are you not keeping the meat in the soup? and do you remove the skin from the pot at some point? I am using thighs instead and wouldn't want to waste the meat. Thank you!

  11. I am keeping the meat in the soup. But I do take out bones and skin before I add the rest of the ingredients.
