Deletei discovered this site yesterday and love everything on it! i am learning abt russian's food so that i may prepare them for my husband when he missed his mommy's cooking. even i start to like russian food. Spasibo Lea, btw where is your location?
DeleteThat's great! I would start with making plov, it's very easy to make and it taste so good. I am from Seattle area:)
DeleteThanks♥¸.•*´¯*♥
Plov is now my fav dish to cook and approved 'taste like original Russian plov' by my husband ;). Being asian, I love to have plov with cucumber salad (asian style - with onion, chilli and vinegar). my next project - cheburek!
DeleteI should try your cucumber salad sometime:) Asian food is very different, I have a lot of my favorite Asian dishes but with out the spicy ingredients. We love chebureki I have a good recipe for it:) Did you try olivie? Where do you live?
DeleteOlivie , not yet but I will definitely try that. I am currently in Emirates. Btw, will my chebureki still taste good if I skip the vodka?
DeleteVodka makes The dough flaky. If you skip it will not be the same. Is Emirates in Dubai?
DeleteAbu Dhabi, about 1 and half hr drive from Dubai
DeleteWow!!! that's far from USA. The weather must be very hot there:)
DeleteYeah, very far. It's summer now, and temp may easily be 43 degree celcius. but today it shows 37 C, yey!
DeleteWow! I was in Las Vegas this weekend it was 38C and it was hard to breathe for me. We came back to Seattle and its 22C here. I am so glad that our weather is much cooler:)
DeleteVery nice weather in Seattle! U are lucky. Starting end of Sept, it will get colder here. But still, hot is better then extreme winter in Moscow! :-D
DeleteI know, Moscow is cold. I am from Estonia and we had 4 months of snow in the winter. I so glad we have a warm rainy winter here and the summer is not too hot:-) It's really nice to talking to you. What is your name?
DeleteI am Lea Ruslan. This site will be my fav from now onwards :)
DeleteNice to meet you:-)
DeleteThanks♥¸.•*´¯*♥
Me to. That looks awesome.

DeleteLooks like a festive cake - just beautiful. :) You reminded me of the "layered salad period" in Russia when everybody was cooking layered salads and competing with one another. Thanks for the inspiration, I will make something like that soon.
ReplyDeleteThe mouse-topper is adorable. You are a great 'masteritsa'. :)

ReplyDeletethank you for your amazing dishes. I made your salad a bunch of times :)
ReplyDeletebut i was wondering does it have to be in layers? what if I mix everything? don't really see the point of layering out salads...
Sure you can mix it. I made it up myself, I guess it looks more fun for the pictures when it's layered:)
