Russian Kotleti Recipe "Beef Patties"

Russian kotleti are very easy to make and are absolutely delicious! You can make as many as you like and just keep the rest in your fridge for tomorrow. The leftovers are as yummy as fresh ones.
Kotleti might remind you of burger patties or meat balls, after all it made out of ground beef. However, their shape is different than meat balls or patties, and because we love rich flavor in our food, kotleti might contain more then just ground meat and spices.

     Ingredients:
1.5 lb ground beef or any combination of any ground meat
1 onion
2 potatoes
2 eggs
2 tbs heavy whipping cream
Salt, pepper, coriander, vegeta (optional)
Oil, flour, Panko or bread crumbs

I make bread crumbs from corn flakes. Just put it in the blender, and you will have bread crumbs.
Blend potatoes with onion.
Like this.
Put all ingredients in the bowl. Mix well.
I mix bread crumbs with flour.
Form kotleti into oval shapes. Dredge both sides of the patties into bread crumbs.
Fry it in oil on med heat. Enjoy with your favorite side dish or in the sandwich.

  2. I think this recipe can be one of the answers to preventing rotten leftover meat. And the best part is that it doesn’t require too much preparation. Anyone can actually do this at home! And with a kotleti, you can experience one of the exquisite delicacies the country of Russia can offer.

  3. I use bread instead of potato so going to try yours. I had some in Russia made with something other than beef. perhaps lamb. It was wonderful. I always thought everyone ate these until I realized they are not in cookbooks. Something my family brought with them from Russia.

    1. I do use bread soaked in milk sometimes too. I like it more with potatoes. You can make kotleti from any ground meat you like. Try mixing different meats together like chicken, beef and pork. Find your favorite flavor:)
