"Delicious Cabbage Pie"

This cabbage pie is really simple to make and it's delicious. It's a very unusual pie and super scrumptious. I really like the dough in it. My family loved it!!! With only 6 tbsp of flour, this could work on low carb diet.

Ingredients:
2 cups of  shredded Cabbage
3 Eggs
5 tbsp (1/3 cup) Sour Cream
3 tbsp Mayonnaise
6 tbsp Flour (for keto use 1/2 cup of almond flour)
1 tsp Salt .
2 tsp Baking powder
1 tbsp  Dill
3 tbsp green onion
Sesame seeds (for sprinkling)

Another good filling for this pie is:
3 boiled eggs, cut in small cubes
1 cup of sliced green onion
      Salt, pepper, vegeta
      3-4 tbsp. melted butter

Preheat oven to 350 F.
Shred cabbage thinly, add salt. Next knead with your hands, so the juices come out.
Add greens and mix.
Fluff eggs.
Add sour cream and mayo.
Add dry ingredients, mix well.
Pour dough under and over the cabbage. You can mix it a little on top, so it will go through the cabbage.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chives.  Bake at 350F for 30 min until golden brown.
 Enjoy!!!

  9. Made this for dinner tonight - it was very tasty! I also used yogurt instead of sour cream, and only 2 tablespoons of mayo. I didn't have the herbs mentioned, so I used parsley. Went well with a side salad of arugula, mixed greens, toasted pecans and pumpkin seeds, olive oil and balsamic!

    2. My initial response didn't publish. Lol 🙄 user error
I made this with your almond flour option, Perfect. Hot or cold, we have it with deviled eggs.
Also, makes an outstanding brunch dish.

  15. This is indeed very good! I didn't have 'green onions' on hand, so I just used a small onion and some dried chives. Since I'm low-carbing it, I substituted 3 T of almond flour and used 3 T regular flour. I also used greek yogurt instead of sour cream. Husband loved it as well as I. Next time, might add cooked sausage meat at the bottom and some mixed in so the flavor permeates....

  18. When you mean bake it, is it like oven bake or frying it in a pan on fire.

  19. Have you ever tried freezing it? I'm trying it tonight with purple cabbage (all that was left during this weeks grocery shop)

  26. Hi. Looks delish. But I don’t understand what you mean by, “Another good filling…” What do you leave out of the original recipe when you use the boiled egg mix? Thank you.

    1. I did not understand this either, do you leave out the regular eggs and use the boiled eggs instead?

  27. I have made this several times and is always a hit. I think it’s best right out of the oven. I don’t know if it has been mentioned in prior post but I keep coleslaw mix on hand. For this recipe it’s a real time saver. If it’s a little too coarse spin it just a bit in your food processor. I can’t wait to try it with my fresh dill and spring onions.
